Dentistry, Neurosurgery, Advocacy, Consultative Sales, Sister

Tim started his day off with a visit to a dentist based at Mass General. He and Amy were transported "all the way over there" in an ambulance, which too all of 5 minutes at 8AM today. They decided to walk back. Tim was having some work done on a front tooth that suffered a small chip back on July 12 when his resperator was inserted. His teeth were graded A2, which we're all pretty proud of!

We had lunch out on the patio, savoring these last few days of summer. One of the things we talked about was yesterday's Eagle article about Drs. Kantrowitz & Lasner (Tim's neurosurgeons) and the groundbreaking work they're doing with herniated disks back at BMC. If you missed it, read it here

After his therapy sessions, we all sat down with his new Case Worker, Tara. She's wonderful - with experience in disability and medical insurance claims, voc rehad counseling and getting through an actual cervical injury (with time spent on the 9th floor), she knows the issues and how to get things done. She and Tim are getting along great, and we're glad to have her on the team as Tim's advocate.

A bit later, Tim returned a call from Roland, the modified accessible van dealer. He and Tim talked about some models and designs, and it looks like Tim might get a look at a demo or two later this week.

Finally, the day wrapped up with a first for Tim - a slumber party. Jancy asked, Tim's roommate said OK, the staff approved, and soon some sort of portable bed was set up in 902. That's all I've got, but you'll learn more tomorrow.
